I am going to vote for Patricia E. Brown for Rockport town clerk, and here is why.
Governing a town, no matter what its size, has become a complicated matter.
One of the surprises I got when I was elected to the Planning Board was that, in almost everything you do, you bump into state or town regulations.
The town clerk is the person board and committee members go to for answers about the procedures, and I have turned to Pat many times. She can explain things clearly, and she is patient, pleasant, and a whiz on her computer.
While on-the-job-training may work for some positions, it won't work for this one. The town needs an experienced person for Town Clerk, and that person is Pat Brown.
