Gloucester Daily Times
---- — To the editor:
I found the news that the city’s beach revenues were down this summer hard to take (the Times, Tuesday, Sept, 10).
It’s just not fair. The city goes to all that trouble to create an ocean and a gorgeous sandy beach to frolic on, plus a terrific sunset or two to enjoy – and then they get cheated out of revenues?
People aren’t broke enough. You have to charge them money to gather up the kids and enjoy a day at the beach.
You have to make them pay money to park their car on a slab of pavement to experience a day of fun in the sun and surf and sand, all of which God created.
Too bad you can’t make some cash from oxygen.
