To the editor:
When we vote in the state primary election on Sept. 14, state auditor is one of the contested races on the Democratic ballot.
Suzanne Bump is the most qualified candidate for this seat.
Only Suzanne has successfully run six agencies with over 1,500 employees and a budget of billions in state and federal dollars.
Suzanne was able to accomplish notable achievements in the state's worst economic downturn in decades, including creating 11,000 jobs for teens and reducing first-stage labor dispute resolutions from 2 to 3 years to 2 to 3 months.
A business attorney for many years, she has served as secretary of labor and workforce development in the Patrick administration.
In that role, Suzanne worked to combat fraud in the workplace, saw to it that over 70,000 workers in Massachusetts industries received funds necessary for their training and oversaw Worker's Compensation reform which now serves as the national model.
Her background in both the private and public sectors qualifies her for the job of state auditor. She looks forward to the opportunity to use that experience to reform existing government bureaucracy by funding programs that will benefit the taxpayers and will expand audits to include businesses dealing within the state as well as government agencies.
Please give Suzanne Bump your vote for state auditor in the Democratic primary on Sept. 14.
