Letter: Write-in makes Planning Board pitch

To the editor:

I was asked several weeks ago to enter my name as a write-in candidate for Rockport's Planning Board; I accept this honor.

As president of the Educational Foundation for Rockport, chairman of the Rockport Chamber Music Festival and volunteer-teacher in the Middle School, I've gotten to know many of my fellow Rockporters, and they've taught me a lot about what makes our town the "finest kind." Before retiring, I spent 17 years as a consultant helping corporate and public-sector clients improve through strategic planning and related techniques.

This plus engineering and business administration degrees and 13 years in business management all make me confident that I could contribute to the Planning Board's efforts. Please write in my name and address and check the box on the ballot on May 8.
