Letter of the editor: Ferrante has earned re-election vote

To the editor:

This November, I will be voting for Ann-Margaret Ferrante for state representative.

Ann-Margaret has worked to defend the people of Cape Ann and reform government. She is an "independent thinker" and has shown it as follows:

When the Gloucester Community Arts Charter School was improperly approved, Ann-Margaret stood-up, defended our district and had the Inspector General investigate the entire process.

When fishermen said they were being abused by the government, Ann-Margaret stood up and helped lead to an investigation of NOAA.

When the Legislature wanted to allow the city of Lawrence to borrow an additional $30 million without a receiver, Ann-Margaret voted "no."

Ann-Margaret also voted against the "hack" holidays, and would not support the governor's gun bill because it "unfairly punished law abiding gun owners."

Because Ann-Margaret is willing to stand up to both federal and state governments when they are wrong and fight for our local businesses and groups, I will be voting for Ann-Margaret in November.
