Letter: Standing up to support the Lucky 7

To the editor:

I have been reading articles regarding Lucky 7 and its shutdown by state investigators.

I loved Lucky 7 and enjoyed going to the Causeway Restaurant and otherwise shopping with Lucky 7 gift certificates.

Why were they shut down after the permits that the city of Gloucester and Town of Danvers had issued — and after letters of approval from Sen. Bruce Tarr and other officials?

How is it possible for Chucky Cheese, Bonkers, Dave and Busters and other establishments to still be operating when they have the same or similar games as Lucky 7, and also offer prizes and charge money to play? Are Chucky Cheese and Dave and Busters too big to take on?

Patrons and businesses in Gloucester and Danvers should send letters to their local state representatives and senators, and to the Attorney General in Boston. I can’t understand how operating arcade games is legal for these other places and not for Lucky 7.
