Letter: Studying Rockport bank office move a waste of money

To the editor:

What a waste!

I'm talking about the proposal in Rockport to blow $60,000 to restudy the usage of the recently purchased former Granite Savings building on Broadway.

Study what? To tell us where to put a desk?

The same people who sold the theory that the town office building was terribly overcrowded and that this was an opportunity not to be missed to fix that alleged problem, now say not so fast.

You got what you wanted in purchasing the building amidst considerable controversy for nearly $700,000 in April. There is no need to reinvent the wheel here.

The bank building is in virtually move-in condition now so why wait.

Vote no on Article K at Rockport Fall Town Meeting, and load the trucks for the move — provided any offices wish to move.
