Letter: All residents deserve voice on Fuller

To the editor:

MassDevelopment was restricted in its options for use of Fuller School due to its restriction to tax revenue-producing proposals.

However, that does not excuse the presentation to the City Council, the public, and the School Committee of a study without options such as use for an industrial purpose, a school, or city offices.

Either choose a developer who can look at the obvious range of options or present the missing options.

At the meeting at West Parish on Tuesday evening, the mayor flat out refused to look at the city office option going forward to the astonishment of the City Council and the audience.

Moreover, leaving the possibility of school use to the School Committee, which does not even plan to survey the taxpayers but only school parents, is totally unacceptable.

All of us taxpayers should share in this decision.

School parents only have a child in elementary school for six years.

All of us pay for the decision between fixing Fuller and building a new school for the rest of our lives.
