God, and the passing of firefighter Smith

To the Editor:

I am writing in response to the letter from Joseph Orlando (the Times, Tuesday, July 10).

I did not know firefighter Mike Smith, who passed away last weekend. But I feel I do know God.

God gives gives every man woman and child but one reason to be alive this day, or any day for that matter. That reason is quite simple. God’s reasoning is that he gives you one more day to do something good for someone else.

It’s easy to something good for another, it could be as little as opening a door for somebody; it’s that simple, and easy. The hard part, folks, is not telling anyone that you did it. Add to that, what is harmful to you, do not do to another; and thereby, you now know God’s purpose for your life.

Have you read Matt. 25;18 today? God may have simply run out of things for Mike Smith to do!
