April 01, 2008 06:30 am Novello named Star of Excellence recipient Addison Gilbert and Beverly hospitals recently named Gloucester resident Elizabeth Novello as the recipient of the Star of Excellence award. Novello, an access representative at Addison Gilbert Hospital, received the award after being nominated by her co-workers in Access Services. Novello reaches above and beyond in her daily work by accepting additional responsibilities and acting as the supportive "go-to person" among her co-workers. Novello's easygoing, understanding and caring personality has been acknowledged not only by her co-workers but the patients she works with at Addison Gilbert Hospital as well. "Elizabeth expresses kindness and compassion and will do whatever it takes to make the patients' preregistration experience as pleasant as possible," said Eva Favalora, site manager of Access Services and a nominating party, in a statement. "It is difficult to pinpoint all of the times Elizabeth has gone above and beyond, but it is clear that she takes pride in her position and she truly does an admirable job." As a Star of Excellence award recipient, Novello was presented with a framed certificate of recognition along with additional gifts at a reception held in her honor at Addison Gilbert Hospital. Williams joins Hospice of the North Shore Rockport resident Anne Williams has joined Hospice of the North Shore as community relations coordinator in the marketing department. Williams, who has more than 15 years of experience in communications and public relations, will be responsible for media relations, newsletter and brochure development, and support for special events. A graduate of Boston University, Williams most recently held the position of donor relations associate at North Shore Music Theater in Beverly. Prior to that she worked as program manager for the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce in Gloucester. Williams volunteers for several North Shore organizations, including Kestrel Educational Adventures, The Annisquam Village Players and the Foundations Program at Wellspring House. Sawyer named assistant vice president Walter J. Sawyer has been hired as assistant vice president of residential lending by Rockport National Bank. "I am very fortunate to be able to work in the same geographic area I grew up in," Sawyer said in a statement. "I look forward in having the opportunity to give something back to Cape Ann."
