Staffers named LEED Accredited Professionals
Three staff members of Olson Lewis Dioli & Doktor Architects in Manchester were recently named LEED Accredited Professionals (AP). They are: principal Christopher T. Doktor, AIA; senior interior associate Michele R. Brooks; and intern architect Henry L. Miller.
This accreditation is a continuation of the firm's professional practices and commitment to sustainability and conservation.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a green building certification system "designed and built using strategies aimed at improving" building performance developed by the U.S. Green Building Council. This accreditation distinguishes building professionals who have demonstrated knowledge, skills, and stewardship of green building practices and principles and the LEED Rating System.
The program promotes a national benchmark for the use of environmentally-friendly products, materials, and techniques in the development of sustainable buildings. These recommendations make healthy environments for occupants (humans and animals), conserve water and energy, and use materials and systems that preserve the integrity of the natural environment.
"Green design is essential to the way our clients conduct business and live their lives," said Doktor in a statement. "Becoming LEED-accredited is one more way to provide creative and conscientious building and design solutions."
Jacobe completes training program
Gloucester acupuncturist Eli Jacobe recently completed a two-week international¬ training program held in Beijing, China. He is certified as an instructor in Chinese Medical Qigong, which is a¬ method of therapeutic exercise.
The program was provided at the Beijing Red Cross Traditional Medical Exchange Center.
Cutrell named to board of directors
The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Massachusetts (NAMI Mass) recently announced that state board member Lynda Michaud Cutrell was elected to a three-year term on the national organization's board of directors. She is a member of the NAMI Cape Ann affiliate.
Cutrell, a former senior executive in the investment and finance industry at such companies as State Street Corp., Fidelity Investments and Thomson Financial, worked for 25 years in various capacities including for Fortune 100 companies managing projects in strategic planning for business expansion, performance measurement, product launch, legal planning, client support, and relationship building.
She holds an master's degree in Business Administration from Suffolk University Sawyer School of Management in Boston and teaches at Boston College in the MBA program. Additionally, she received a Post Baccalaureate and Studio Diploma from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in 2007.
NSH appoints elder care leaders
Northeast Senior Health, Addison Gilbert and Beverly hospitals' elder services continuum, has appointed four new members to its Sen-Net Steering Committee.
A professional association sponsored by Northeast Senior Health, Sen-Net offers free networking and education through regular meetings which are open to any elder care providers throughout Cape Ann and Essex County.
The new Sen-Net Steering Committee members are: Eileen Fagan, provider relations manager for Hospice of the North Shore; Shannon Lynch, enrollment specialist for PACE/Elder Service Plan of the North Shore; Jane Militello, assistant executive director of SeniorCare Inc.; and Carolyn Wynn, executive director of the Peabody Council on Aging.
