Mass. gas prices edge up another 3 cents

BOSTON (AP) — Gasoline has edged up another three cents per gallon in Massachusetts, and has now soared 20 cents in the past three weeks.

AAA Southern New England reports yesterday that self-serve, regular gasoline increased to an average of $2.63 per gallon, but remains six cents below the national average.

The current price is 18 cents higher than it was at the same time last year.

Higher prices worldwide are being driven by the weaker dollar and strong economic data in China, which raised hopes for an increase in energy demand.
