Jernegan named stylist at M. Lekkakos

Rockport resident Heather Jernegan has joined M. Lekkakos, a full-service salon, spa and boutique, as a full-time hairstylist. She comes to M. Lekkakos from Shanti Salon in Newburyport.

Jernegan has nearly seven years of experience as a hairstylist, having worked in award-winning Intercoiffure salons throughout the Boston area, including Dessange Paris in Boston and SalonCapri in Newton. She specializes in cutting, but is also certified in hair extensions and Bioionic hair straightening. In addition, she has trained with Laurent D., owner of Prive Salons and an international haircare line, and is trained in the Dessange technique, an industry-standard, precise method of hair cutting that results in light and lively hair.

In her free time, Jernegan is a business professional who manages Ipswich-based Not For Navigation, a line of durable canvas handbags and accessories. Not For Navigation is a division of Jungle Inc., also in Ipswich, a company founded and owned by her parents, Glenn and Linda. Jernegan is a graduate of Rockport High School and has received advanced education throughout her beauty career in New York and Massachusetts.

Jernegan has become the third stylist at the M. Lekkakos Salon, joining Beverly resident Lyssa Chapman and Essex resident Debbie Hickey. Combined, the hairstyling team at M. Lekkakos now has more than 35 years of experience. The salon at M. Lekkakos brings expertise and cutting-edge hair techniques to the area that North Shore residents previously had to travel to Newbury Street for — Yuko hair straightening, razor cutting and more.
