Episcopal Divinity School recently celebrated its 2009 fall matriculation ceremony, welcoming 21 newly matriculating students into the seminary community.

David Prentice of Gloucester was among those who signed the book that officially marks his enrollment. Prentice is from St. John's Episcopal Church in Gloucester in the Diocese of Massachusetts. He is enrolled in the Master of Divinity program. Matriculating students are candidates for Episcopal Divinity School 's master of divinity degree, master of arts in theological studies degree, or a graduate certificate in theological study.

Jessica Hartigan, a student at Endicott College in Beverly, recently received a Gallagher Koster Insurance Scholarship. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Hartigan of Gloucester.

A member of the Class of 2010, she is majoring in visual communication. Established by Teresa Koster, the scholarship is awarded annually to benefit a student in Endicott's Keys To Degrees single parent program.

Army Reserve Pvt. Lenny W. Russo has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers and tactics.

A 2009 graduate of North Shore Technical High School in Middleton, he is the son of Jane and Vicenzo Russo of Gloucester.
