MANCHESTER - Police received a report at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday that a mattress was blocking the left-hand lane on Route 128 north. An officer removed it from the road.
r Police arrested Michael Bixbee, 19, of 13 Somerset Ave., Beverly, yesterday on charges of drunken driving, reckless driving, speeding, failure to stop for police and driving without a license. Police stopped him on Route 128 north yesterday at 2:20 a.m. citing speeding on his motorcycle and because he was suspected of being drunk. Police said Bixbee was going more than 90 mph and his driving permit did not allow driving at night.
