A 51-year-old South Chatham man charged with purchasing tuna from a fishing vessel, though he didn't hold the proper state fishing permits, had his case dismissed by Judge Joseph Jennings in Gloucester District Court yesterday upon payment of $100.
Robert S. Fitzpatrick, of 9 Pellet Lane, South Chatham, appeared in court in connection with an incident on Oct. 26, 2007, when Massachusetts Environmental Police discovered he had been purchasing fish from a vessel though he didn't have a Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries wholesale dealer permit for his facility, Maguro America, located at 427 Main St., within the J.B. Wright Fish Co. The police sought a criminal complaint on April 7.
r A Gloucester man charged with driving without a license had his case dismissed upon payment of $150 yesterday.
Marcos A. DaSilva, 37, of 8 State St., No. 1, was in court for an incident that took place on March 23 after police stopped a green Honda Accord that ran the stop sign at the corner of Porter and Main streets.
DaSilva presented Gloucester police with a passport and a Brazilian license, but not a Massachusetts license. He told police he had lived in Gloucester for six years.
Police issued a citation on April 8 for unlicensed operation and issued a warning for running the stop sign. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Tally's.
DaSilva paid the $150 yesterday.
r An Everett man charged with driving without a license had his case dismissed upon payment of $150 yesterday.
Adilio Neto, 24, of 160 Garland St., No. 3, Everett, appeared in court for an incident that took place in Rockport yesterday.
Rockport Police Officer Daniel Mahoney stopped Neto's vehicle as he traveled north on Granite Street yesterday after noticing that Neto's third brake light was not illuminating. Police soon discovered Neto did not have a license.
Neto was placed under arrest and the vehicle was towed by Sandy Bay Service.
Neto paid the $150 fine yesterday and was found responsible for the light violation.
