Three Gloucester men were placed on pretrial probation for one year stemming from a March incident where a man was beaten in the Walgreen's parking lot.
Dereck DeCaro, 25, of 5 Lloyd St. , and Christian Godinho, 18, of 580 Western Ave., are facing charges of larceny from a person, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and aggravated assault and battery. Stephen Parsons, 21, of 15 Shepherd St., is charged with assault and battery.
Multiple witnesses put the trio at the scene. According to police reports, DeCaro, Godinho, Parsons and a fourth man cornered the victim and beat him. Witnesses told police that one man was kicking him while he was down and another hit him with an unidentified weapon. The victim was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital with facial injuries.
A Milford man was sentenced to one year in jail for shoplifting from Shaw's and Stop & Shop last September.
Michael J. Consoletti, 31, of 79 Water St., pleaded guilty to two counts of larceny over $250 and two counts of receiving stolen property. According to police reports, Consoletti stole $1,062.72 worth of merchandise from Shaw's on Eastern Avenue and $300.95 worth of merchandise from Stop & Shop. The items stolen were razors and painkillers.
The man who drove Consoletti from the scene, Matthew P. Peters, 29, of 7 Pheasant Court, Milford, had a charge of receiving stolen property continued without a finding for six months.
Thomas J. Irwin, 24, of 2 Soginese Creek Road, Essex, was sentenced to one year probation after pleading guilty to charges of assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and vandalism.
Irwin was arrested May 30 by Essex police after he was spotted by police, who were aware that he had an outstanding warrant. When questioned by police, Irwin attempted to flee the scene. Police caught up to Irwin, who struggled and shoved an officer in an attempt to break free.
Edgar Lynn, 21, of 75 Austin St., Lowell, had charges of driving without a license dismissed so long as he pays $300 in court costs. Lynn was also fined $35 on a charge of failing to yield.
The charges against Lynn stem from a May incident where he failed to yield on Grant Circle.
