Fiesta aftermath

r As Fiesta wound to a close, police received several complaints of fights, noisy groups, fireworks and house parties late Sunday night into early yesterday morning. Among the reports were people who urinated into shrubs at a house at 153 Western Ave., and American flags which went missing along Stacy Boulevard.

r One Centennial Avenue resident complained that a flower pot was stolen from in front of her house.

r At Mason and Prospect streets, a man was found laying on the sidewalk at 3:28 a.m. He told police he drank too much alcohol while celebrating Fiesta. Officers helped him get a taxi ride home.

r Earlier in the night, slightly before 10 p.m., a large fight broke out at St. Peter's Club on Rogers Street. When police got there and went inside, they found four different groups fighting. The fights were all broken up and the people dispersed. No arrests were listed in the log as a result of that incident.

r Two young men were taken into custody after families trying to enjoy Fiesta complained to police about their unruly behavior and foul language. Jason Wiley, 22, of 74 Cabot St., Beverly, and Matthew J. Morrissey, 19, of 31 Hilltop Drive, Beverly, were arrested at 9:35 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

r Police made another arrest at 11:42 p.m., when a Beacon Street resident reported hearing glass breaking at her neighbor's house. Police found Jason N. Kneissler, 39, of 14 Beacon St., at home. He told them he had broken a window while moving things around his house.

Police say Kneissler invited them inside, where they found three smoking pipes on his kitchen table, which they believed were used to smoke marijuana. They arrested him and charged him with possession of a class D controlled drug and disturbing the peace.

Incidents

r Police investigated an attempted break-in at the Cape Ann Marina, which happened sometime overnight Sunday and was reported at 7:09 a.m. yesterday. A window in the back of the building had been broken, but police do not think anyone was able to get inside.

r A man delivering phone books was bitten in the leg by a Maltese dog named Oscar at 9:40 a.m. yesterday. Michael McClellan of Seabrook, N.H., suffered a bite, which broke his skin, on his right calf, according to police.

r The dog's owner, a resident of 8 Summit St., told police that while the dog is not registered, it is up-to-date on all its shots. The case was forwarded to the Animal Control Officer for further investigation.

r Police noted that a sinkhole is beginning to form at Traverse and Decatur streets.

Crash

r A man went to the hospital after a three-car crash on Essex Avenue at 12:17 p.m. yesterday.

Timothy K. Reardon, 54, of 13 Hampden St., had come to a stop while the car in front of him waited to make a turn into a driveway. But he was rear-ended by another car while he waited.

The driver of the car which rear-ended him, 65-year-old Jose Correia Jr., was cited for following too closely.

Reardon declined an ambulance ride to the hospital, but did call his wife to have her take him into the Addison Gilbert Hospital for an examination. No other injuries were reported.

Fire record

r Patients were taken to Addison Gilbert Hospital from Hesperus Avenue and Patriots Circle on Sunday, and from the Heights of Cape Ann yesterday.
