ESSEX — A van illegally passed a school bus that was picking up an autistic child on Eastern Avenue yesterday. The driver of the van, Salem resident, Valdeir Dossantos of Boston Street was stopped by the police at 8 a.m. and was discovered to have been driving without a license. Police say he was going to be summonsed to Gloucester District Court on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

r Police received a late vandalism report Tuesday at 5:37 p.m. The report was of a window that had been broken at a Centennial Grove Road building. According to the report, the window could have been broken at any time within the last three weeks. Police are investigating.

r Lyons ambulance transported a handicapped person to Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on Tuesday. The person, a resident of Lufkin Point Road, was transported at 12:05 p.m. because he was bleeding from some stitches.

r A fire alarm at a Main Street residence was set off in error at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
