Manchester teen in plea deal for Philly stadium break-in
The 19-year-old Manchester youth, who, along with four fellow Villanova University students, broke into and vandalized the Philadelphia Eagles' football stadium last April, have worked out a plea agreement with the court — and are now awaiting a decision from the university as to whether they may return to school.
Defense lawyer Theodore Simon said the Villanova students, including Taylor Halsted of Manchester, must pay $800 each in restitution and perform 100 hours of community service. Simon said the agreement also stipulate that, if they stay out of trouble for one year, their records will be expunged.
Simon described the break-in at The Eagles' 70,000-seat Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia as the result of "unbridled misdirected judgments largely connected with a fraternity prank."
Halsted attended the Pingree School in Hamilton, where he earned a spot on the honor roll and headmaster's list in 2007
The other students involved are William Clarke, 19, of Short Hills, N.J.; Dylan Carroll, 18, of Pelham, N.Y.; Mark Ioannidis, 18, of Brookhaven, Pa., and Daniel Papa, 19, of Andover, Md.
