Manchester police/fire

MANCHESTER — A car accident on Eaglehead Road led to an arrest early yesterday morning. At 12:06 a.m., police responding to report of an accident found a Saab crashed into a tree. The car was empty, but police found the driver and his passenger at a home down the street. Both had minor injuries, one a broken nose, the other a cut tongue, and were taken by the Fire Department to Beverly Hospital for treatment.

During their investigation, however, police determined that the driver of the Saab, Adrian King, 17, of 11 Brook St. in Manchester, had been drinking. He was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended license. King will be arraigned today at Salem District Court.

Fire Department personnel transported a 7-year-old to Beverly Hospital on Wednesday. The child, who was having was difficulty breathing, was taken from School Street at 1:05 p.m. When asked, the Fire Department did not have an update yesterday on the child's condition.
