ROCKPORT — Police arrested a Lynn man after receiving a report of a man on foot on Thatcher Road whom the caller believed may have been involved in a Gloucester accident nearby.
Patrolman Michael Marino arrested Jorge Lopez-Soler, 22, of 341 Boston St., Lynn, on a charge of drunken driving at 2:42 a.m. Thursday.
Firefighters responding to an alarm at a Mount Pleasant Street home Thursday found no fire and determined the smoke detector was faulty.
Rescuers transported a boy from Rockport Elementary School to Beverly Hospital at 12:28 p.m. Thursday.
