Essex selectmen look to finalize Town Meeting warrant

By Amanda Flitter

ESSEX — Selectmen will take the final steps tonight to set up a special fall Town Meeting.

They will be having final discussions about articles for the warrant during their meeting tonight. The special Town Meeting will likely be scheduled for early November.

Selectmen Mark Lynch said articles to be discussed will include allocating money for the Conomo Point subdivision project, addressing the shortfall in the Essex Youth Commission budget and hiring a town planner.

There will also be discussion regarding articles for the purchase of a police cruiser and Department of Public Works equipment, and other housekeeping items.

Given that tonight's meeting is set to be the final discussion about the warrant, Lynch said the timing will be tight for citizens to bring forward new articles for consideration.

The selectmen's meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the TOHP Burnam Library.
