Arrests
A homeless Gloucester man was arrested yesterday on an outstanding warrant.
Gregory M. Moses Jr., 30, turned himself in to police yesterday afternoon on the outstanding warrant which was for a charge of violating a restraining order.
Incidents
Police responded to McDonald's on Maplewood Avenue at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday for a reported motor vehicle accident. When the officers arrived, they found two vehicles had collided on Maplewood Avenue. Police said Jessica Sorrells, 29, of Maryland admitted fault in the incident. Sorrells told the officers that she spilled her soda and drove into oncoming traffic while looking down at the spill. No injuries were reported and both cars were towed away.
A Mason Street woman called police at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to report vandalism. When police arrived on scene, they found that somebody had thrown a Chinese barbecue pork rib through a window, breaking it. Police searched the area for somebody with Chinese food and came up empty.
A 16-year-old Beverly girl was transported to Beverly Hospital by ambulance at 8 p.m. Tuesday from Iron Rail gymnastic school on Kondelin Road. The girl had a dislocated elbow.
A Gloucester Department of Public Works employee called police at 1:15 p.m. yesterday to report a possible break-in on Souther Road. The employee told police that he saw two people trying to enter a home through a side door. He also observed three other people sitting in a parked car in front of the house. The Public Works employee told police that the people drove away when they saw him. State police caught up to the vehicle in Wakefield; the occupants told them they were supposed to do work at the house. This claim was later verified by the company that hired them.
