Police said Wayne Walker, whose last known address was a Kingston residence but who has a long history in Amesbury, sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl several times this summer and fall.
"There were multiple, multiple incidents," Kingston police Chief Donald Briggs said.
Walker was a friend of the alleged victim's family and assaulted her in her own home, according to police reports.
Briggs said Walker fled the area when he discovered the family had turned him in.
Police said they think Walker could be hiding in the Seacoast area. Prior to living in Kingston, he was living in motels in the Amesbury and Newburyport area, according to police. He has a former address on Essex Street in Amesbury.
Amesbury police Sgt. Mark Gagnon questioned whether Walker would be hiding out in Amesbury, where most members of the Police Department would recognize him. Gagnon said police are aware of the warrant and ask that anyone who knows of his whereabouts contact the Amesbury Police Department.
Walker is not a registered sex offender in either New Hampshire or Massachusetts but was arrested in several incidents in Massachusetts.
He was charged in Amesbury in 2003 with breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, domestic assault and battery, and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Walker is wanted on one count of aggravated felonious sexual assault in Kingston, and officials said more charges are likely.
