Writer missed mark with Lewis criticism

To the editor:

Like other writers, I, too, was saddened to read Mr. Collins' letter to the editor (The Times, Saturday, May 3) in which he questioned Christopher Lewis' motives and integrity.

I have the honor of knowing Christopher Lewis. He is an intelligent, kind, honest and generous man. The fact that Mr. Collins can write such harsh words about Christopher simply indicated that Mr. Collins does not know him.

Christopher Lewis has, for many years, given his time, talents and money to people and animals alike. He serves his community out of his desire to help make it a better place. Period.

Rockport, as well as Mr. Collins, would, as I have, benefit by knowing Christopher Lewis a little better.
