Ferrante will bring needed perspective to Statehouse

To the editor:

As a Democratic organizer both in Gloucester and at school in Washington, D.C., I am proud to support Ann-Margaret Ferrante as state representative for the Fifth Essex District.

While critics may question her political identity, I know that her positions are consistent with my values and address the concerns of residents not only in Gloucester, but in Rockport and Essex as well.

Ferrante's support for marriage equality, a woman's right to choose, and smart economic development along with her experience in advocating for senior citizens and the fishing industry make her uniquely qualified to lead the fight for Cape Ann on Beacon Hill.

Ann-Margaret Ferrante will represent Gloucester, Rockport, and Essex in Boston with a unique combination of youthful vigor and principled, conscientious diligence, a balance which is unique to her in this race.

She will bring a new perspective to the State House, one which is independent of the current political establishment and one which will look to act in our best interest. I hope my fellow residents join me in voting for Ann-Margaret Ferrante on Sept. 16.
