Letter to the editor: School board member-elect vows to 'keep building'

To the editor:

Thanks to the parents and residents who supported my campaign for the Gloucester School Committee.

I am determined to repay the confidence you have placed in me, and do the best job I can to see our schoolchildren through the challenging fiscal tempests that lie ahead of us. ¬

A special thanks is due to the members of the committee. They stepped up to their roles in the face of daunting problems. They deserve all of our thanks for their work, for taking responsibility for the future of our city.¬ They've laid the foundation of shelter from the economic storm.

Over the last two years, we've seen collaboration and teamwork, including both parents and residents, teachers and School Committee members, providing for our students in Gloucester.

Let's keep building together. ¬

¬ Roger Garberg,

Gloucester,

Member-elect, Gloucester School Committee
