Hornets lose heart-breaker in field hockey final

By Times Staff

A last-minute goal capped a second-half Watertown High School rally and dealt the Manchester Essex girls' field hockey team its only loss of the season today, a heartbreaking 2-1 setback in the North sectional finals in North Andover.

But Watertown, which now moves on to the state Division 2 Final 4 tournament with a record of 19-0-2, tied the game with a goal off a corner with 7 minutes left, then broke the deadlock in the closing seconds.
