Second Trip Gloucester (11-1) vs. Duxbury (12-0) for the Division 2A Super Bowl title

Three Keys to Victory

Gloucester

1. Stop DiBona. While the Duxbury passing game looks like it has several weapons, senior running back Shane DiBona appears to be the only weapon on the ground. The Fishermen can't let the University of Iowa-bound senior take over the game.

2. Control the line on offense. The Dragons biggest strength on defense is their front five, which Gloucester head coach Paul Ingram calls "dominant." The Fishermen offensive line needs to win the trench battle to get their running game going.

3. Work the passing game. Quarterback Rick Gallant proved that he can run an effective passing game this season. The Fishermen need to keep Duxbury off balance with their passing game, whether it be for short or long gains, Gloucester needs to make them worry about a passing threat.

Duxbury

1. Don't be afraid to play a finesse game. Duxbury can play both smashmouth football and finesse football. Smashmouth football plays right into the Fishermen's hands as nobody has been able to match their physicality for four quarters. The Dragons will have to open things up to win.

2. Make tackles. The Fishermen gained countless yards after first contact against Masconomet on Tuesday. Dragon defenders need to make sure they take down the Fishermen ball carriers early and often.

3. Create penetration on defense. A defensive line surge strongly hinders the Gloucester running attack. If the Dragons defensive line can get a push, they will take the Fishermen out of their game.
