The Pingree School football team has gotten used to winning in their short existence as a program.
The program has seen a steady increase in wins each year since the program began in 2005 and this year, they just finished off their best season in school history. At 7-1, good for first place in the Evergreen League's Northeast Division, the Highlanders were selected to play in the Clark/Francis Bowl tomorrow afternoon at Endicott College (1:30 p.m.). Pingree is the only team from the Evergreen League to qualify for the Bowl, which features the top New England Prep School Athletic Conference Schools and even a few schools from New York. Pingree will face off against Brooks Academy of North Andover in the Class C game. Brooks also comes into the game with a 7-1 record.

Fortunately, Gloucester's Caulin Rogers and Andrew Ryan are used to running up hill. Rogers and Ryan, who finished 12th and 17th respectively at last week's division 2 meet at Franklin Park in Boston, have been running at Ravenswood Park where Gloucester has their home meets. In so many ways, yesterday's heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Watertown in the Division 2 North finals was similar to their 2008 meeting.
LYNN - The Rockport boys' soccer team's incredible postseason journey came to a dissapointing end yesterday afternoon in the Division 3 North final as they were blanked 3-0 by Weston at Manning Field in Lynn.
Make no mistake though, this wasn't the case of the Vikings (14-5-3) running out of gas or not showing up on the big stage, they simply ran into a great team, that along with Masconomet had to be the best squad they had seen all year.
Weston moves on to face Cardinal Spellman (24-0) later this week in the state semifinals, Spellman beat Westport 2-1 yesterday in the South final.

15 goals in three games.
The number jumps off the screen when you look at the Divison 3 North boys' soccer bracket on the MIAA's website and check out Weston's path to the final.
Obviously Rockport knows they'll have their hands full when they play the Wildcats (12-2-6) tomorrow afternoon (12 p.m.) in the Division 3 North final at Manning Field in Lynn. When you get this deep in the state tournament, every team is a title contender. They are each one of the top eight teams in Division 3: along with Cardinal Spellman/Archbishop Williams and Westport in the South, Maynard and Douglas in the Central with Gateway and Lenox/Pioneer Regional from the West.
