Fast forward to the end of the game and the Fishermen walked away with an easy 36-14 victory over Revere at Newell Stadium. Gloucester improved to 9-0 with the win and can clinch their third straight Northeastern Conference Large title and a playoff berth with a win against Lynn Classical next week.]]></description>

At least that's what Manchester Essex hopes after they defeated Bishop Fenwick 1-0 yesterday afternoon in the Division 2 North quarterfinals at Ed Field Field in Manchester. 
The top-seeded Hornets (19-0-1) dominated time of possession but their high-scoring offense was held to just the one goal by the No. 8 Crusaders (13-6-1), a second-half strike from junior midfielder Lizzy Ball.]]></description>

This year, the unbeaten Fishermen (8-0) are outscoring opponents by a margin of 35-6. In three league wins against Salem, Peabody and Lynn English, the Fishermen have won by an average margin of 38-2.]]></description>

For the Vikings (11-4-3) it wasn't a shock at all that they made the tournament, but the fact that they earned the No. 4 seed (out of 15 teams) in Division 3 North has to make head coach Dave Curley and his team quite happy. In a first round game, they'll host No. 13 seed Matignon (6-10-1) on Sunday afternoon (1 p.m.) in Rockport.]]></description>

The Fishermen, however, do not play with a three yards and a cloud of dust style, it's more like eight yards and a cloud of dust. That was evident in Friday night's 48-7 drubbing of Lynn English as the Fishermen attempted just one pass, a halfback option, and ran for 405 yards and averaged just over nine yards per carry in what was supposed to be their toughest Northeastern Conference game this season.]]></description>

Leading the honors for the 18-0-1 Hornets, who won the CAL Small, is senior forward Amelia Cohen, who was named CAL Small Player of the Year. Cohen has been a fantastic player in the Manchester Essex system for four years and enjoyed a tremendous senior season. She was second in the league with 20 goals and second in the league with 11 assists. Only her teammate, senior forward Amelia Burke, was better in each category with 22 goals and 16 assists.]]></description>
