Shaq in "Grown Ups"
It's too bad Adam Sandler and Happy Madison Productions decided against filming the sequel to "Grown Ups" in Essex like the original. Not only are original cast members Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade, Kevin James, Salma Hayek and Maria Bello back for the sequel, former Celtics center and four time NBA Champion Shaquille O'Neal will also be appearing in the sequel.
It would be interesting seeing Shaq in the area, but the sequel will be filmed in Marblehead instead of Essex.
McQuaid
still out
Bad news for the Bruins as bruising defenseman Adam McQuaid will not travel to Washington for games three and four. McQuaid has not yet played in the playoffs and has been replaced by Joe Corvo in the lineup.
McQuaid may not be indispensable, but he's an important cog on the team and a big upgrade over Corvo, who is shaky when not playing on the power play.
Masconomet tie to bounty gate
A CBSSports.com report mentioned former Masconomet star/assistant coach Mike Cerullo (Class of '85) as a whistleblower with the New Orleans Saints bounty program. Cerullo was a quality control coach with the Saints, who have been heavily sanctioned by the league for putting bounties on opposing players. Cerullo is now coaching at UConn.
Ayla the traitor
Former BC basketball player Ayla Brown, who on numerous occasions sang the national anthem before Celtics games at the Garden, now sings the anthem before all Philadelphia 76er home games. Wonder if that costs the former American Idol contestant's father, U.S. Sen Scott Brown, a couple votes.
