Tucker Meredith went the distance allowing just three hits and striking out six on 93 pitches in Rockport's 2-1 win over Georgetown Saturday. The win moves Rockport to 1-1 on the year and more importantly it's a win over a Cape Ann League Division 3 rival. Rockport won the league in 2011 and even though it's very early in the season, a win over Georgetown is huge.
Kyle Nelson led the Rockport offense with two hits while Mike Tupper, Adam Balzarini, Dylan Cheaney and Meredith also chipped in hits for the Vikings.
