Pacquiao a Winner?

After one of the most controversial decisions in boxing history gave Timothy Bradley the victory over Manny Pacquiao on June 9, the fight was sent to the World Boxing Organization (WBO) for review. Using a judging panel of five instead of the traditional three, all five judges scored the fight in favor of Pacquiao. Because the WBO has no authority to change the result, the decision still stands. However, expect a rematch in the future.

The Goose lashes out

After former Boston Red Sox pitcher Roger Clemens was acquitted on charges of obstruction and lying to Congress, Hall of Famer Rich "Goose" Gossage said he doesn't believe 'The Rocket' is innocent. In an interview on ESPN New York 98.7, he was quoted as saying, "Are we going to reward these guys for cheating? Even though he was found innocent, it was because of the bad testimony." With Clemens' name appearing on the Hall of Fame ballot for the first time this fall, it will be interesting to see if the voters truly believe he is innocent, as many people feel the same sentiment as Gossage.
