The Fishermen move to 3-1 with the win over the Bulldogs. In the victory Gloucester turned in 13 first place finishes.
Freshman Noah Hillier led the way with wins in the shot put and discus. Also finishing in first for Gloucester were Josh Rudolph (400 hurdles), Wes Dunn (2-mile), Noah Mondello (mile), Phil Curcuru (110 hurdles), Calvin Kapruto (400), Matt Carpenter (800), Justin Tucker (200), Mike Sheehan (high jump), and Pete Mondello (javelin).
"It was a pretty good meet for us today," Gloucester head coach Jeff Destino. "We had some very good performances, especially Noah Hillier and Everest Crawford, both Freshman and both topped 100' in the discus which is very impressive for a Freshman."

Gloucester turned in a solid effort according to head coach JD MacEachern for its first win of the season. Junior captain Bianca Giacalone led the way for Gloucester with first place finishes in the 100, the long jump and the javelin. Fellow captain Elle Wierbicky had two first place finishes in the 200, triple jump while Elizabeth McCormick won the shot put and discus. Kaci Quinn (2-mile), Fiona Davis (mile), Audrey Knowlton (400 hurdles), Hannah Sumner (high jump) and the 4x400 relay team of Kaci Quinn, Davis, Michelle Quinn and Emma Knowlton also turned in first place finishes for Gloucester.
BASEBALL

The Vikings picked up their second win over their Cape Ann League Division 3 rivals at Evans Field Tuesday. Rockport was powered by a two run bottom of the first and three run bottom of the third inning.
Dylan Cheaney picked up the win on the mound allowing a run on four hits through 4 1/3 while striking out six. Mike Tupper, who also had two hits at the plate, closed the door with 2 1/3 shutout innings of relief. Tucker Meredith had two hits in the win, Caleb Tanson had an RBI double and Nick Scatterday had a hit and two runs scored.
danvers 10 gloucester 3
The Fishermen (4-2) jumped out to a 3-0 first inning lead but Falcons hurler Josh Arrocho kept Gloucester's offense at bay from there on in. Gloucester was also plagued by a couple of uncharacteristc defensive and base running blunders.
Alex Webb gave Gloucester a 2-0 first inning lead when his two RBI double plated Kyle Lucido (single) and Santo Parisi (error), Webb was then driven in on a single from Mike Muniz. Peter Clark also played well for Gloucester coming out of the bullpen.
amesbury 5 rockport 2
The Hornets fall to 2-3 with the loss. Joe Burgess led the Hornets offense with two hits while hurling a complete game allowing just four earned runs on five hits. Max Nesbit had two hits for Manchester Essex while Dom Cirone and Cory Burnham each had a hit and an RBI.
GIRLS LACROSSE

Gloucester picks up its first win of the season thanks to an outstanding second half where they outscored Tewksbury 11-2.
Melodie Orrell powered the Gloucester offense with seven goals and an assist. Caity O'Leary had five goals and an assist, Hayley Labrecque four goals while Anna Oshiro, Julienne Orrell and Tess Destino had a goal and an assist each.
Head coach Amanda Barker also praised the play of Claudia Oliva in goal and Sara Sidlowski on defense.
BOYS LACROSSE

The Fishermen could not keep the momentum going from Saturday's win over Manchester Essex falling to 1-5 with a loss to the Generals. Winslow Lewis and John Curcuru were the Gloucester goal scorers.
GIRLS TENNIS

Abby Hood picked up an impressive win for the Vikings at No. 1 singles (6-4, 6-1). No. 2 singles Eva Weinstein also played well falling in two close sets 4-6, 4-6.
