Crunch Time

Kelly with team

Injured Bruins forward Chris Kelly traveled with the team to Montreal this weekend, where the Bruins will play the Canadiens tonight (7:00 p.m.) with first place in the Northeast Division on the line.

Kelly skated with the team at Friday’s practice but his status for tonight’s game is still up in the air but there is a chance he could return to the Bruins’ lineup.

“It felt good today,” Kelly said. “It was nice to practice with the guys, and get out there not just for a morning skate but an actual practice and throw my weight around. I don’t know (about playing Saturday). We’ll see what the best thing is and go from there. I don’t want to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ but I’m pushing it pretty good and it feels good, which is a good thing.”

Kelly has missed the last 13 games and has not seen action since March 11 after breaking his left tibia.

Rutgers AD resigns

More heads continue to roll at Rutgers University after video tape was released depicting recently fired head coach Mike Rice throwing basketballs at players and berating them verbally.

Athletic Director Tim Pernetti resigned on Friday making him the second high profile person involved in the school’s athletic program to be fired.

“This was a failure of process. I regret that I did not ask to see this video when Tim first told me of its existence,” Rutgers University president Robert Barchi said. “I want to apologize to the entire Rutgers community for the negative impact that this situation has had on Rutgers.

FenwayExpands Fare

In their never-ending quest to bring decrepit Fenway Park up into the 1990s, the Red Sox have announced improvements to the park menu.

A new menu of sandwiches include the Monster Beef, Turkey Gobbler, Pot Roast, BBQ smoked Pork, steak and meatballs subs. Fans will also be able to test new Bavarian Pretzels, too.

In addition, the Fenway World’s Fare will feature Mexican and Chinese dishes, as well.

And don’t forget the specials for April only, a $5 12-ounce draft beer, 2-for-1 Fenway Franks, plus half-price hot chocolate.
