Synchronized swimmers thrive at Jr. Championships

The North Shore YMCA Selkies synchronized swimming team placed fourth overall at last weekends East Zone Junior Championships in New Canaan, Ct.

The East Zone Jr. Championships pits the top synchronized swim teams from Ma., Ct., NH., NJ, NY and Pa. against one another.

The North Shore YMCA Selkies qualified 7 routines to this competition. After the preliminary competition on Friday February 10 and semi-final rounds Saturday February 11, the Selkies placed 5 routines in the final competitionon Sunday, February 12th. The team earned a 4th place finish for overall team points and each routine achieved was its best performance of the season. The team consisting of Molly McKeon of Essex, Hope Weaver of Rockport, Angelina Spanks of Gloucester, Alyson Arsenault of Methuen, Megan Huston of Topsfield, captain Erin Walker and Madeleine Hines both of Wenham will next compete at the Sr. Zone Championship in Buffalo, NY next month.
