Crunch Time

Injury Updates

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski continues to practice the odds he plays against Tampa Bay on Sunday are 50-50 according to multiple reports. The Patriots tight end was vague with reporters when asked about the injury on Wednesday.

“So far there’s really nothing new to report,” Gronkowski said. “And I’m just day to day and progressing every week and I’ve progressed significantly since last week.”

Wide receiver Danny Amendola was at practice on Wednesday for the first time since the week leading up to the Bills game. He was listed as a limited participant and his status for Sunday’s game is once again very much in doubt.

Big Game Alert

The Gloucester boys soccer team will finally have its home opener tonight against Marblehead at New Balance Track and Field at Newell Stadium (6:00 p.m.).

The Fishermen were forced to play their first three games of the season on the road finishing with a 2-1 slate beating Lynn Classical and Winthrop while falling to Swampscott on Tuesday night.

Appeal Granted

Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Dashon Goldson appealed his one game suspension and won. The All Pro safety will now face a $100,000 fine for a hit on a defenseless Saints running back Darren Sproles Sunday and will be suited up in Foxborough on Sunday when the Bucs face the Patriots.

The fine is Goldson second in as many weeks this season as he was fined $30,000 for a hit on Jets tight end Jeff Cumberland in Week 1.
