Cape Ann Youth Basketball Tryouts

The Cape Ann Youth Basketball North Shore Girls Basketball Travel League will hold tryouts for the 2013-14 season on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the O’Maley Middle School gymnasium.

Registration for grades 4-6 will be at 9 a.m. with tryouts running from 9:30-10:30. Registration for grades 7-8 will be at 10:45 a.m. with tryouts running from 11:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Registration fee is $5 per player, and the cost for the program is expected to be $275 per player, if you have more than one daughter in the program the second player will be discounted. The league will run Nov. 12 through the middle of March.

Gloucester Youth Boys Basketball

Gloucester Youth Boys Basketball will be holding tryouts for their 5th-8th grade travel program on Monday, October 28 and Tuesday, October 29 at the O’Maley Middle School gymnasium.

Grade 5 tryouts will take place on Monday at 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday at 6 p.m. Grade 6 tryouts will be on Monday at 7:30 p.m. Grade 7 will be on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and Grade 8 will be on Tuesday at 8 p.m.

Players are asked to arrive 30 minutes before tryouts to register. Players must attend tryout to be considered.

Soccer Nights at Newell

Fishermen Youth Soccer and Gloucester High School soccer are putting on a Soccer Night at New Balance Track and Field at Newell Stadium on Friday, Oct. 18 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The free event provides an opportunity for kids grades K-5 to play under the lights at Newell Stadium. There will be a clinic featuring Gloucester High soccer players and Fishermen Youth Soccer coaches along with instructions and an inspirational message from Ryan Guy of the New England Revolution.
