Gloucester’s Curtis Quinn had a big day at the Division 2 North State Qualifier Monday at Hillview Golf Course in North Reading shooting a 75, which is good enough to qualify for the Division 2 State Finals on Monday at Blackstone National Golf Club in Sutton, Ma.
Quinn finished strong with two late birdies to finish as one of the top 12 individuals.
“It was not an easy round of golf today,” Gloucester head coach Brian Goulart said. “It ended up being a beautiful day but it was in the mid thirties in the morning when players were warming up on the range. Add in a half hour delay and a five hour round and it makes for a day where it can be hard to stay loose and focused. There were a lot of great players that struggled today and for Curtis to advance to the finals is a great reward for all the hard work he has put into his game.”
