---- — Tigers file complaint

The Detroit Tigers were none to happy with Tuesday’s 4-1 rain shortened loss to Boston. In fact the team was so unhappy it filed a complaint with the league.

Tuesday’s game was halted in the top of the sixth inning when the Tigers had the bases loaded with two outs in the inning. The umpires called for a rain delay at the time due to the pouring rain and the game was called one hour and 45 minutes into the delay.

This did not sit well with the Tigers, who questioned whether the game should have been started at all.

Although the Red Sox won they were also hit with some bad news as Josh Beckett left the contest in the third inning with a back injury. Actually that may be good news for the Sox at this point.

Sox quiet at deadline

I know most Sox fans are not happy that the Red Sox didn’t do more at the trade deadline, but it may be a blessing in disguise.

The one move the Red Sox did make was a good one as Craig Breslow will be a fine addition to the bullpen.

Fans were hoping that the Sox would make a bigger impact but they were fine standing pat. This team is not going anywhere this season and there was no player out there that would have put the team over the top down the stretch run.

It was not worth it for the team to trade any prospects to improve a team that’s not good enough. Now the Red Sox have the offseason to re-tool, and here’s hoping they make some significant changes without having to trade away the farm.
