The Divisional State Cross Country Championships will be run today in Wrentham with Gloucester and Manchester Essex each sending both its boys and girls squads.
Gloucester will race in the Division III race while Manchester Essex will compete in Division VI. Each team is fielding 10 runners.
Patriots backup running back Brandon Bolden has been suspended four games for violating the NFL’s policy on performance enhancing drugs.
Bolden has played sparingly for the Pats this season, he ran for 100 yards against Buffalo earlier in the season.
It didn’t take long for someone to take the heat for the Los Angeles Lakers 1-4 start to the season. On Friday the team fired head coach Mike Brown, despite the fact that it is just his second year as Lakers head coach and the team still owes him $11 million.
Assistant coach Bernie Bickerstaff takes over as interim head coach as the team looks for a permanent replacement. Mike D’Antoni, Jerry Sloan, Nate McMillan, Mike Dunleavy and Phil Jackson are a few names that have been rumored. It would be fitting if the ultimate opportunist Jackson comes back to the Lakers for a third stint, after the team made two big moves in the offseason to improve.
Brown appears to be the scapegoat for the Lakers early season troubles, Los Angeles will still contend for the Western Conference crown this season no matter who the coach is.
