Big Game Alert

The MIAA state tournament kicks off for Cape Ann teams today as No. 15 Manchester Essex girls basketball travels to No. 2 Pope John tonight (7:00 p.m.) in the Division 4 North First Round.

Don’t let the disparity in records fool you, Manchester Essex is 7-13, Pope John 18-2, this is a good matchup between two of the better teams in the section. The matchup is also a rematch of last year’s Division 4 North First Round where Pope John pulled away late in the fourth quarter to come away with a hard fought 42-31 win.

Ski Championships

Manchester Essex will send five skiers to the State Ski Championships today at Berkshire East Ski Center in Charlemont, MA.

Brian McAuliff will represent the boys side while Megan Jones, Alex Marshall, Megan Clark and Lizzi White will race for the Manchester Essex girls.
