Newell renewal
The Gloucester Fishermen Athletic Association will hold a fundraising auction for the renewal of Newell Stadium on March 24, at the Elks at Bass Rocks, kicking-off at 6:30 p.m., with a silent auction until 8:30 p.m., followed by a live auction. On the auction block will be great donated items, including a Kurt Schilling autographed jersey, baseball lessons, rounds of golf, local artists' works, a dory tour with "Last Survivor" Jim Tarantino, six hours of language tutoring, and a lobster dinner for eight. Tickets are $25 at the door; $20 in advance, at Destino's Cape Ann Savings Bank, Palazola's, Jeff's Variety and Christine.
Post 3 Legion Registration
Registration for the 2012 Jr. and Sr. Legion Baseball team(s) will be held on March 10 and March 17 from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. at the Captain Lester S. Wass American Legion Post 3 on 8 Washington Street in Gloucester. Registration will be held on the ground floor, please use the bar entrance. To be eligible to play legion baseball you must be 13 years of age on or before January 1, 2012 and cannot have a birthday in the entire year of 1992. Gloucester will have both a Jr. and Sr. program for the 2012 season. For more information please email Gerald MacKillop, Jr. at Post3Baseball@gmail.com . To be eligible for tryouts you must register at one of the registration sessions. Players from Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester and Essex are eligible to register.

Figure Skating Team registrations are still being accepted for Sat 10-2, Sun 8-10 and Tues 6-8. Girls & Boys, Teens & Adults. Rockport Diamond Sports Baseball Registration
Rockport Diamond Sports is currently hosting online registration for youth baseball 2012 season. The registration period ends March 31, 2012. Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth baseball is for players ages 7-16. The players age is based on their age on April 30, 2012. Please visit our website at rdsi.org for on-line registration.
