The Hornets have dug themselves out of an early season hole moving to 3-3 with their third straight win.

Liam Aldrich powered the Manchester Essex offense with 17 points, Max Nesbit chipped in 13 and Taylor Ketchum had 10. Head coach Bryan Shields praised the play of Sean Gutierrez (8 points) for his strong work on the defensive end.

The Vikings fall to 2-4 on the year with the loss on the road. Sarah Rowen led the way with 10 points and 11 rebounds drawing praise from head coach Steve O’Connor for her work on both ends of the floor. Heather MacArthur had nine points and Kayla Parisi had 13 rebounds to go along with five points.

Manchester Essex 44

The Hornets (2-5) fell to the mighty Tigers but played much better than they did last week when the Tigers beat them by 30 points. Evy Weihs led the way for Manchester Essex with 16 points, Eliza Logue scored 11 and Carolyn Heslop had eight.
