The Hornets finish up the regular season at 13-7 with their fourth straight win and now wait to see who their Division 4 North State Tournament opponent will be.
Captains Liam Aldrich and Max Nesbit led the team with 18 and 13 points respectively. Aldrich now has 44 points over the last two nights following up a 26 point performance on Wednesday. Head coach Bryan Shields also credited the play of senior Sam Kurpis off the bench, who scored five big buckets late in the fourth quarter and turned in stellar defense in the post.
Amesbury 58 Rockport 57
Rockport’s season comes to an end at 7-11. The Vikings led by 10 points heading into the fourth on Thursday but Amesbury won the last frame 17-6 to pick up the win.
Shaun Aspesi and Tucker Meredith led the way for the Vikings with 17 points each, Adam Balzarini scored 11.
“It was a great season,” Vikings head coach Tim St. Laurent said. “The kids fought all the way to the end and I’m gonna miss my seniors tremendously.”
Notre Dame 56, Rockport 29
The Vikings finish the season at 7-11 after a tough loss on the road Thursday. Heather MacArthur led the way with eight points while Kayla Parisi and Sarah Rowen chipped in seven points each.
With seven wins, the Vikings have improved on the previous season’s win total for the third straight season, they will return the entire team next winter.
