Finishing off a week unblemished is a tall task when Peabody, Beverly and Lynn Classical are on the schedule. But the Gloucester baseball team managed to do just that Thursday polshing off a 3-0 week with a 6-2 win over Lynn Classical on the road.
Sean Gillon picked up the win for Gloucester going the distance while allowing just two runs and striking out five. Gloucester got on the board with three runs in the third inning with the big hit coming from Mike Muniz, who had a two RBI double. Santo Parisi had an RBI double in the fifth and then came in to score on a Lenny Zappa sacrifice fly.
The Fishermen move to 8-3 with the win and now need just two win over the last nine games of the season to qualify for the state tournament.

The Hornets fall below the .500 to 4-5 with the loss. Adrian Frattini and Jon Browning led the offense as they each went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Manchester Essex picked up its first win of the year in impressive fashion by dominating the Sachems. Nick Douglass and John Beardsley led the offense with two goals and an assist each. Jeff White scored three goals, Brian McAuliffe and Connor Bergmann had two goals each. Doug Rodier and Chris Dumont played well on the defensive end for the Hornets.

Gloucester improves to 2-3 with the win. First place finishers for Gloucester were Madeleine MacDougal (400 hurdles), Fiona Davis (2-mile), Elizabeth McCormick (discus), Kacie Quinn (mile), Nina LoGrande (100 hurdles), Audrey Knowlton (400), and Anna Heffernan (800).
