Crunch Time

All MASCAC

Salem State University catcher/designated hitter Brett Cahill, of Gloucester, was named first team all MASCAC this week.

Cahill has had a stellar season at the plate for the Vikings with 53 hits in 144 at bats good for a .368 average. Cahill also leads the team with 42 RBIs and is second on the squad with 41 runs scored to go along with four home runs. Cahill has started 40 games for the 31-11 Vikings this season.

Just plain silly

Need more proof that the NFL Network's "Top 10" shows are pointless?

Their recently-debuted list of "Top 10 Heisman Trophy Winners turned NFL Players" ranks Tim Tebow No. 7 all time!

That is ahead of NFL Hall of Famers Earl Campbell (8) and Marcus Allen (9) and record-setting NFL star Cam Newton (10), who is currently better than Tebow.

A little too real?

Video games have certainly come a long way since the days of the old Nintendo, but does anyone feel like games are growing a tad too realistic?

In "MLB 12 The Show," umpires are programed to make human errors and have their own strike zone. How frustrating is that?

Kind of makes you long for the days of Tecmo Bowl, right?
