Rockport took a 1-0 lead into halftime when Jon Ferrante volleyed a cross from Shaun Aspesi. According to head coach Dave Curley the Vikings had several scoring chances in the first half but could only come away with one goal.
Pentucket took a 2-1 lead in the second half but Aspesi evened things up with five minutes to go converting a penalty kick after the Sachems were called for a handball in the box.
Eric Littlefield play well for Rockport in goal as did Matt Rostowski on defense and Conor Douglass at striker. Rockport will be thrown right back into the fire on Thursday when it plays unbeaten Masconomet.
“This is a great opportunity for the little Rockport Vikings to go up against the big boys,” Curley said. “We will be a better team after this week no matter what the result is Thursday.”
