The Gloucester girls lacrosse team picked up a hard fought 16-13 win over Lynnfield Tuesday improving its record to 2-9 on the season. Caity O'Leary led the way for Gloucester with five goals and an assist. Julienne Orrell had three goals and three assists while Tess Destino and Melodie Orrell had three goals and an assist each. Kelly Foster and Hayley Labrecque eached chipped in a goal. Goalie Claudia Oliva made 18 saves in the win and head coach Amanda Barker credited the defensive play of Sara Sidlowski.
"The girls really wanted this one and it showed," Barker said. "It was a really nice win, we did a great job setting up our offense and played strong team defense."

Gloucester improves to 4-7 with the win and has doubled its win total from 2011. Gloucester had its bat going Monday winning an extra innings thriller. Clare Pleuler powered the offense with three hits and a game winning home run in the eighth inning. Annalise White, Tess Benson and Sophie Black all had three hits while Katie Munroe, Olivia Legendre and Emily Caisse also played well on the defensive end.
